01 — Expertise
A watchmaker who has worked at the bench for over two decades
Kriangsak Wattana founded Temperidas after spending his formative years in Bangkok's repair trade. That background — working across a wide range of calibres, from common quartz movements to vintage Swiss mechanisms — informs every assessment made at the bench today.
Depth of experience matters in this work. A watchmaker who has seen many variations of a given calibre will notice things a less experienced hand might miss: a worn escape wheel tooth, an incorrectly adjusted endshake, lubricant that has migrated into the wrong place. These are details that affect whether a movement runs well for months or for years.

02 — Tools & Method
The right instrument for each step of the work
Good watchmaking requires appropriate tools used correctly. We use a timegrapher to measure how a movement is performing before we touch it and again after the overhaul — so the improvement is documented rather than assumed. Cleaning is done ultrasonically in watchmaking-specific solution, not by hand-wiping with a cloth.
Lubrication is applied in the correct grade and quantity to each friction point. Over-lubricating is as harmful as under-lubricating; the oils we use are chosen for each application rather than applied from a single general-purpose bottle.
03 — Service
A conversation before anything else
We treat every enquiry as a conversation rather than a transaction. When you bring a watch in, we take time to look at it carefully, explain what we observe, and discuss the options. There is no pressure to proceed. If the repair isn't something we can do well, we'll say so.

04 — Pricing
Prices you know about before we start
Temperidas publishes starting prices for all three services. A quartz battery and seal visit starts at ฿3,900. Case and bracelet refinishing starts at ฿14,000. A full collector's overhaul starts at ฿34,000. These are the figures you can plan around.
If any additional parts are needed — a worn component, a damaged crystal, a broken pin — we show you the part and the cost before ordering. You decide what proceeds.
05 — Results
Work that holds up over time
The measure of a good overhaul is not how the watch looks on the day it leaves the bench — it's how it runs six months later, and two years later. That means using the correct lubricants in the right amounts, fitting seals properly with the right tools, and taking time to observe the movement over a break-in period before signing off.
Temperidas's overhaul service includes a documented post-service measurement and a break-in observation period so any issues can be addressed before the piece is returned.

Temperidas is a small practice, not a volume repair operation. Because we don't take on more work than we can handle carefully, your watch is not waiting in a queue behind fifty others. It is on one bench, with one person who knows it.
Same-day quartz service
For standard quartz models, the battery and seal visit is typically same-day. You can drop the watch in the morning and collect it in the afternoon. This is useful for travellers passing through Chiang Mai who need a quick, competent service.
